Pesticide usage and application on the crops affects the quality and quantity of yield produce in a given field in a given period of time.
As pesticides are substances used to prevent, control and destroy pests such as insects, weeds and diseases, there is need to take precautions before application, during application and after pesticide application.

When applying pesticides, always read labels before use of pesticides and contact doctor in case you come into contact with pesticides and also use buffer zones when using pesticides outside. Be fully covered when using pesticide and wash personal protective equipments separately.
Similarly, always test application rate in equipment under typical operating conditions and when using it outside, monitor site conditions, post buffer zone and create emergency plan. Continue by always being prepared for spills by having protective clothing, absorbing material and routinely inspect inspect containers and always replace with one of similar material.
For proper disposal, rinse the empty container repeatedly, remove paper label and return container to for recycling. Finally, always keep current records of pesticide use including type, location and duration to which it has been applied.
