Organic pesticides are safe and environmental friendly to control crop pests. Organic pesticide is easy to make from local materials and saves farm expenditures. Organic materials used to prepare organic pesticide have different benefits for example, garlic, marigold and chilli act as repellant and curative ingredients while lemon acts as a preservative. Additionally, pawpaw leaves help to control insects with chewing mouth parts while pumpkin leaves help in decomposition. Lastly, ash adds mineral like iron while urine kills pests.

Material preparation process

For 5 litre pesticide break and pound a handful of garlic and 2 handful of ginger separately, measure 1/4 litre of water and add to both crushed garlic and ginger, stir and store them separately in a coll dry place to facilitate decomposition. Additionally, cut and pound 6 lemons, 1 handful of chilli and full bucket of pawpaw leaves. Furthermore, pound full container of neem, pumpkin leaves and half a container of marigold leaves.

Mixing pesticide

After 1 week, mix all ingredients, add 1 full plate of ash, mix well and keep for 1 week. Thereafter sieve the content two times and after 1 week and add 1/2 litre of animal urine. Lastly, after preparation pack the prepared organic pesticide, add some water and distribute to markets.
