As weeds contain good compost activators, any alkaline lime is not good for making compost. First loosen the soils under neatrh the compost pit for earation, put a layer of carbon on soil and a layer of nitrogen and follow it by adding a layer of cartons and a layer of biomass.
Similarly, add soil from garden and compost from previous compost as these contain bacteria and fungi for increased decomposition and repeat the process and add water after last layer and cover with polythene. Temperature raises to 70 degrees centigrade inside the compost for th next 48 hours aned the compost break down to half with in a week of decomposition and breaks down by a third with in 2 weeks.
Finally add more water and activators.
