Similarly, sow is faced in gate and once system is complete, the farrower is reopened and once farrowing is complete, separate the piglets. With point of health and safety, farrower is closed and piglets are separated from the mother regularly during the week. With large litre, it is necessary to foster piglets to a nurse sow and for protection of litre, close farrower briefly.
360 farrower is designed to protect piglets and allow sow freedom of movement ad in this, there is need to observe sow lying down after her first feed post farrowing. Daily routines involve checking health of both sow and piglets and a piglet require close inspection or treatment for safety of all concerned.
Furthermore, routine treatment is made by removing all piglets to treatment bottle and return them once treated as all farrowers are inspected daily and cleaned. Paper bedding is replenished and replaced with straw after 48 hours and straw is replenished daily. Clean feed is introduced to piglets out of reach of the sow and sows are fed semi automatically 3 times a day.
Feed labels are reduced daily according to appetite and the sow is more active in 360 farrower and feed intake is increased by 10%. Finally, sows are removed from 360 farrowers with piglets left behind and later piglets are also removed by easily opening the gate.
