First week farmer need disinfectant, 16.5 kg feeds, vitamins, charcoal and wood shavings. Second week you need 37.2 Kgs feeds, vaccines for Newcastle. Third week 64.8 kg mash and vaccines is needed .Forth week 94.4 Kgs mash and vaccines is needed. Fifth week 121.1 kg mash is required
Cost and expenses
Total Cost of keeping broilers for 5 weeks requires a budget of 51985 shillings. The cost of constructing chicken house and purchasing accessories required is Ksh 26735.
Cost of buying one day old chicks and first week requirements is Ksh 8975. Total cost for the second week is 2060. Total amount used in the Third week in keeping and feeding broilers is Ksh 3340. The fourth week cost is Ksh 4820 and in the final week you need 6055 shillings for keeping 100 broilers
Income versus expenses
After the fifth week one broiler will retail at 400 shillings totaling to 40000 shillings for 100 broilers. If you compare expenses used for 5 weeks and income earned there is a loss of Ksh 11985.
The total cost incurred include the cost of constructing chicken house which is Ksh 26735. Cost will be cut by Ksh 26735 if chickens are kept repeatedly because chicken house will not be constructed again leading to a profit of Ksh 14750 in five weeks.
