Cultural weed control can be done through mulching and proper spacing to suppress weed growth.
Mechanical weed control is done by using garden equipment like hoes to dig down the weeds or by manually pulling out the weeds using hands.
Chemical weed control involves the use of different chemical sprays to control weeds. The herbicides can be pre- emergence used before the weeds come out or post emergency used after the weeds develop leaves. When post emergence herbicides are used, it is best that they are used when the weeds have less than 4 true leaves to maximize efficiency.
