Plants need nutrients in order to grow well and these can be got by making plant tea locally at home.
To make the plant tea, you need organic compost, chlorine-free water but if you are using normal tap water, you need to keep it open in sunlight for at least two hours so that it becomes chlorine-free,  an aquarium pump but this is optional and a sieve for sieving.

Making plant tea

First, pour the organic compost into the chlorine-free water and mix them thoroughly. Ensure that the compost-to-water ratio is 1:10.
Put the pipe of the aquarium pump inside the mixture.
Start the aquarium pump to enhance the aeration of the mixture. This enables beneficial microorganisms to develop very fast and in huge quantities. Run the aquarium pump for 24 hours.
Switch off the aquarium pump and remove it from the bucket.
Strain the solution using a sieve and now it’s ready for use. The residue is also good for use on crops as a fertilizer.
The liquid fertilizer can be used in 2 ways ie either sprayed on plant leaves or poured around plant roots.
