Being an important feed and suplement for the rearing of livestock, different technologies can be used to make pellets on th farm. Because the process of making pellets involve rolling a thick metal with holes over the dies, rolling forces ground biomass down into dies and the holes squeeze biomass through them with heat and pressure to fuse biomass particles into solid pellets.

Pellet making

As the requirements of making pellets include biomass feeds, course grinder, mixer, pellet machine and packaging equipment, grind biomass to reputable size range and adjust moisture content of the feeds to optimal range which is between 12-18%.
Equally, adjust the tightness of the roller to ensure proper squeezing between roller and die and turn on the machine for a few minutes to raise temperature to optimum level. Add material to the machines to produce pellets and spread out them to harden and cool pellets before packaging.
Finally, carryout experimentation for proper procedures to follow.
