Storeyed gardening is a cost-effective farming technology that’s durable and allows someone to cultivate multiple numbers of crops within a small piece of land, especially for people in urban areas. All you need is 1-meter square of land for you to plant a huge variety of vegetables.
Storeyed garden construction
The technology is easy to manage and enables farmers to get a lot of yields. Maintenance practices are also easy because you could use only 20 liters of water to do the watering.
To make a storeyed garden, you will need Pvc damp-proof polythene.
The base can be 1.35m and the diameter keeps on decreasing as you go up. Fill in the base of the garden with well-decomposed compost.
After the first layer, leave about 4 inches from the edge of the garden and put the next layer. It is recommended that the width of the liner (dump-proof polythene) be 7 inches because the root system of many crops doesn’t go beyond 7 inches.
Put the upper layer on top of the bottom layer and also fill it up with well-decomposed compost manure.
After making the storeyed garden, you can go ahead and plant the crops.
