Well prepared organic compost fertilizers prepared by hot compost method improves crop yields and soil fertility by increasing soil microbes.
After the preparation process, the fertilizer requires 18 days to get ready for use. There are various equipment needed to prepare the fertilizer and ‚Cutlers, 10 sticks with 1 and 1/2 meter height and 1-2 long meter string. Ingredients: Green material, dry material, cow dung, cow urine and water.
Preparation steps
Usually, compost materials take 18 days to get ready for use after preparation. At preparation stages, start by building a frame to hold compost by measuring a cross on the ground, after make compost layers by alternating green and dry materials with each layer 20cm thick . Thereafter, add cow dung and urine to each layer, enough water and lastly, add a roof to the compost pile to protect it from rain.
Compost application
After 18 days compost of decomposition, apply compost direct to garden or mix 2 handful of compost in a bucket of water, stir and apply. Use compost 5 times during the season for example during land preparation, during seeding, during seed emergency, at flowering, near harvesting time.
