Before the pests attack the crops, they can be repelled using repellants made from garlic and chilies but in case have already attacked the crops, then you need to spray with a pesticide. To make an insecticide at home, you need oil, of which neem oil is the best but in case you can’t find it, use cooking oil, eco-friendly washing soap, a spray bottle, and about 500 ml of water.
Making an insecticide
When in the garden, you don’t need to freak out about every insect that you see because there are a few beneficial insects and these include ladybirds. These insects help prevent aphids and other pests from affecting your crops since they eat them out.
Homemade insecticide is a contact pesticide and hence you need to spray exactly where the problem is.
To make the pesticide, put 2 teaspoonfuls of oil in a container, add one teaspoonful of washing soap, and mix.
Put the mixture in the spray bottle, shake it, and then apply to the plant.
To apply the pesticide, do it during the cooler portion of the day most preferably in the evening because if spread during the hot part of the day, the oil may burn the leaves.
Spray both on and under the leaves because the pests may be hiding under the leaves.
