Onions nursery management.

The biggest threat when it comes to onions nursery management is often attack by pests and diseases. the most common disease i the nursery is dumping off which attacks the roots area.

Nursery management

Dumping off can be prevented using products rich in metal axial and mancozeb. Cutting insects is also a big threat and can be controlled using both organic and inorganic products  bacillus thuringiensis and emitter crop lead respectively. Drenching should be done regularly to keep the seedlings healthy.
Apply a starter fertilizer rich in phosphorous should to ensure the root and stem enlargement is good during transplanting. Trim the onions 1-2 weeks before planting on the upper part to prepare them for planting and prevent them from growing taller also that they concentrate on enlarging the stem, increase the root mass, be more hardy during transplanting making them grow faster and easily adopt to the main field.
