»How to plant celery at home«
Celery grows best at temperature 10-26 degrees celsius and for high yield ensure planting good quality seeds from reputable dealers.
Usually, celery seeds germinate after 2-3 weeks, require 85-120 days to mature after being transplanted. Additionally, before starting the process ensure that the seedling tray has holes at the bottom to ensure water drainage.
Procedure followed
Start by filling seedling tray with soil having 70% coco pit and 30% compost. Thereafter make a hole in cells filled with soil and put 2-3 seeds per cell, then close holes to ensure that seeds have contact with soil. Additionally, water the seeds, thin weaker plants after germination and keep tray in full sunlight for seeds to germinate.
Transplanting and management
When seedlings have 1-1.5 inch height transplant with soil attached to plants to avoid transplant shock. Also space seedlings 5-6 inches apart in a bigger pot filled with 60% garden soil and 40% compost. Furthermore, water plants after 3 days, keep potted plants in full sun. Additionally, soften top soil for root development as well as fertilizing every 15 days with nitrogen fertilizers to boost growth. Lastly, harvest when plants reach 5-6 inch height starting with outer leaves.
