»Passion fruit farming is one of the lucrative farming businesses in Uganda today. But despite that fact, many farmers are still not earning as much as they could from the fruit.«

Being nutritious with high demand, passion fruit farming still is affected by the poor agricultural management practices.

One of the agronomic practices is the application of fertilizers in 2 weeks and the preferred fertilizer is NPK CAN and super grow. At three months, fruiting begins at small level and more is achieved at six months.

Fruit management

For the first 3 months, put fertilizers and use it at three months interval. Use CAN and NPK for a better harvest and faster growth of the plant.

Additionally, Irrigation is done using ground water pipes. Put a tap for every 10 metres for effective watering and provide support for the passion fruit plants.

Finally, use proper nets on passion fruits for better growth of the plants.
