Blueberry management
As winter stimulate bud formation in vernalisation process, bluberries can self pollinate and are planted at 10ft spacing. however, bluberries are sun loving plants hence a need to expose them to 6-8 hours a day of full direct sun light and make sure the tree is free of standing water.
Similarly, blue berries are shallow rooted which must be mulched and they grow well in a pH of 4.5-5.5 use a need to use right fertilizers which lower the pH of the soils. Use a minimum of 10 gallon size container grow blueberries and th plants need soils which drain freely and also hold water.
Mix 3 parts of potting soil with 1 part of bark chips and 1-2 cups of perlite for a good container mix or mix 50% coconut fibre and 50% fresh compost with 3 parts of soil potting mix with 1 part of bark chips and 1-2 cups of perlite using elemental sulpher to keep the pH lower.
Finally, spread soil in container, put the plant in it and fill the container with mix, mulch and water the plant.
