 Pests and diseases causes reduction in returns to farmers practicing strawberry farming. When the fruits are infested by diseases their quality also lowers.

Red spider mites can be prevented from infesting on the crops by applying living organisms on the plants leaves so that they feed on them. Drip irrigation can also be applied. Covering plants by use of galvanized chicken mesh of fish net also helps in protecting them from birds.
