Silviculture is the practice of cultivating forest plants or trees within an agricultural framework, primarily for timber production. One of the most prized tree species in silviculture is Teak.

Teak thrives when integrated into your plantation using multi-layer, regenerative cultivation methods. It can be strategically planted alongside other crops such as coconut, coffee, nutmeg, cacao, banana, black pepper, and various fruit trees. The remarkable advantage of silviculture is that it acts like insurance, remaining on your property for an extended period. Teak can be harvested at a slow and sustainable pace, typically allowing for the annual extraction of around 100 cubic feet per year. This consistent harvest ensures a reliable income for 20 to 25 years. Additionally, silviculture contributes to enhancing the soil’s quality by naturally improving soil fertility through the decomposition of branches and leaves.

Teak Planting & Irrigation

Teak trees are usually planted shortly after the monsoon season, taking advantage of the favorable sunlight and soft soil conditions. In the initial one to two years, irrigation is necessary, but the tree becomes self-sufficient thereafter. During planting, it is crucial to incorporate vascular micronizers and bio-fertilizers into the base to foster the growth of beneficial microorganisms and encourage the spread of vascular mycorrhiza through the root systems, facilitating better nutrition, water absorption, and information exchange among the trees.

Organic Manures

For nurturing beneficial microorganisms, we offer a product known as the Varanasi Composter. Feel free to reach out to us, and we will prepare a microbial consortium tailored to your needs. We also provide muscular and vascular mycorrhiza, known as Shugodaya, which is particularly beneficial for new plantings. Dip the roots in a solution of Van or vascular mycorrhiza before planting to enable mycelium to connect the various trees underground, leading to faster growth and enhanced immunity. In organic farming, proper manuring is essential. Consider using Varanasiagra mix, rubber mix, and bio-compost, which not only provide essential nutrients but also introduce seven different types of beneficial microorganisms to your soil.
