During egg hatching, it is advised to spray hatching eggs with a 2.5% concentration vinegar solution as this kills harmful bacteria's on fertilized eggs thereby increasing the chances of hatching. Additionally, vinegar also helps to reduce the chances of bacterial infection in chicks after hatching. Furthermore, spraying eggs with vinegar solution increases chick body weight, and egg hatchability and reduces embryonic mortality thereby helping farmers to attain success in the poultry farming business.

Vinegar preparation

To prepare the vinegar solution to be used always start by purchasing vinegar solution, this should be containing 5% concentration. Thereafter add 100 MLS of water to dilute the 5% vinegar concentration to get 2.5 vinegar concentration since concentrated vinegar may damage the eggs to be hatched thereby affecting the chances of successfully hatching eggs into healthy chicks.

Precaution measures

Always avoid mixing the vinegar solution with other types of treatments like alcohol and other sanitizers as this might cause toxicity thus affecting egg hatching percentages. Additionally, avoid over-spraying eggs to be hatched with vinegar solution as this may damage the eggshell. In conclusion, always wear protective gear when spraying the vinegar to avoid damaging your skin since the vinegar solution is acidic.
