Deworming dairy animals is very important and useful for the control of internal parasites, however time of deworming is very crucial for effective parasite control.

There are various internal worms such as round worms, intestinal worms, tape worms, lung worms, liver flukes and protozoa that greatly affect animal health and therefore need control for proper animal growth and to ensure high outputs from the animals.

Deworming time

Always ensure to deworm adult animals not less than 2 times a year.

Additionally calves under 1 year should be dewormed every 2 weeks and 1 month for 6 months since they are susceptible to worms.

Furthermore, deworm older calves every 3 months. It is also very important to deworm before and after rainy seasons

Lastly, ensure to periodically change the de- wormer.
