Varieties
Lavender-looking hyssop is also known as Agrasachi or the blue fortune. When looking for these plants at your garden center, be aware of these names to avoid the chances of confusion. Also, ensure that as you get them from the garden center or nurseries, they are not treated with pesticides or insecticides. The little adder variety is a little darker than the blue fortune variety and its blossoms are short. While at the garden center, you can be able to differentiate the varieties according to the length of the blossoms. Blossoms that are already a quarter of an inch will already attract bees on them but there are varieties that have longer flowers which means things like bumblebees will get the nectar but your honeybees may not be able to.
Planting
Where you find it expensive to buy potted Hyssop plants, you can start growing them from seeds. The plants are hardy since they can handle frost seasons. The Aster variety which is also a nectar provider to the bees grows by themselves even without planting and they come in a wide range of different colors. these plants grow on their own due to pollen transfer by the honeybees.
Feeding
All pollinators go for a variety of nectar and pollen-bearing plants but the honeybees are after the nectar which is why they land on specific varieties. The pollen collected by the honeybees is used in feeding their brood at the hives. When the honeybees are done collecting all the nectar and pollen, they gather back at the hive, and with all the nectar and pollen to feed on, the queens can now comfortably fly out to mate.
