Crop propagation

Soil preparation. Yellow watermelons thrive in fertile well drained sandy loam soils with a pH level of between 6.0 and 6.8. prepare the soil by adding organic mater and ensuring good drainage.
Planting. Yellow watermelons are typically grown from seed and the seeds are planted directly in the soil.
Space the plants 3 to 4 feet apart in rows to allow for proper growth.

Crop management practices

Watering. Watermelon plants require consistent moisture. Use drip irrigation or sprinkler to keep the soil moist. Be conscious not to over water as water logged soils can lead to root rot.
