Hydroponic farming involves growing of plants without using soil. This type of farming does not involve a lot of techniques and can be easily adapted by farmers.
There are basic materials that are required materials, among these include clean seeds, clean water and aluminium tray to avoid rusting. Barley seed radicles start development after day one however, when harvesting barley always put in consideration the type of animal to feed for example for pig and rabbits harvesting should be done on day 6 and for cows, goats and sheep harvest on day 8.
Growing steps
First weigh and soak barley seeds that can fit into the tray for not more than 4 hours however, all the soaked seeds should submerge into water.
After drain water out and incubate the seeds enclosed in bucket with a lid having air paces for oxygen entry to encourage seed germination.
Furthermore moisten seeds every 12 hours by pouring a handful of water and shake to ensure uniform mixture then plant seeds on clean trays and spread seeds evenly with hand to enhance uniform germination.
Ensure to leave a small space at one end of the tray to for fodder roots not to block the holes of the tray. When placing the try in the growing chamber, place tray on slope with perforated side facing on lower side.
Lastly water all barley seeds at least 3 times a day and harvest depending of type of animal to feed.
