However this fruit has different major pests to mention fruit fly, mealybug, guava fruit borer, bark eating caterpillar, mosquito bugs and white fly to add on that grafted guava plants mature faster at the age of 2 to 3 years as compared those from seeds that take 4 to 5 years.
Proper tools used for guava harvesting are sickle or fruit plucking machines.
Growing to harvesting
Before planting elevate land and plant in hexagonal planting system with hole size of 0.75 to 1 cubic metre to avoid water logging and better plant growth respectively, then plant in pits of 60 by 60 cm depending on rainfall distribution at distance of 5-6 metre in summer, also o fill pits with 20-25 kg of FYM, 500 grams SSP, 50 grams linden powder and 1kg neem cake to control termites for better growth.
In order to produce good plants you should plant crops obtained from good pedigree and alway spray trees with 0.45 kg zinc sulphate and 0.34 kg slate lime dissolved in 70 to 74 gallons of water to cure zinc deficiency however during pre flowering spray 0.4% boric acid and 0.3% zinc sulphate 0r 0.2 to 0.4 copper sulphate to increase yield and fruit size.
To add on that control weeds to ensure healthy plant growth, reduce nutrient competition and trail plants to avoid weak crotches facilitate multiple hand picking and encourage secondary branching and spray the recommended pesticide for the different major guava pests, conclusively harvest with the right tools at the right time as grafted plants mature faster.
