Avocado is an important nutritious food both to farmers and consumers for food and income generation. Planting avocado plant is easy and requires simple steps and knowledge.
Planting steps
Select site with good drainage and loam or slightly sandy soils as opposed to black and clay soils with poor drainage causing roots to rot.
Secondly dig holes of 2 feet deep and 2 feet wide for proper plant root development.
Prepare materials to be used for planting like decomposed manure, fertilizers like multi force which boosts root development.
Mix fertilizers with soil and back fill part of the mixture into the hole.
Plant the seedling and fill up the soil up to the grafting level or were the nursery soil reached.
Support the seedling and water immediately to avoid plant stress and desiccation.
