Hydroponic fodder is a feeding supplement to livestock and birds hence feeding animals and birds on fodder increases production.
Additionally, hydroponic fodder is nutritious and reduces feeding costs. It is recommended to always start by incubating seeds, this is done to allow the seeds germinate. Furthermore requirements to growing fodder include trays, clean water, seeds like barley, wheat, oats, maize and sorghum.
Procedure
First ensure proper spreading of seeds on a clean tray, this should be followed by watering every 3-4 hours a day.
Additionally, set trays containing seeds on the hydroponic unit, this is where watering takes place for 6-7 days.
Furthermore ensure that trays used have holes as this helps to drain excess water to prevent seeds from rotting.
Lastly fodder should be harvested at day 3 or 4 for chicks, day 6 for mature chicken and day 7 for sheep, goats and cows.
